Besides, you're confused. While supposedly there was a Peeping Tom, but I've never heard of Peeking Tom. Peeking is not the same thing as peeping.

well peep is a derivative of peek and in some cases it has the same meaning ..its from the Scottish language and Northern England dialect meaning spelled keek which means to peek or peep.
